Thyroid specialist in the London area

My sister has been given an antibodies result of over 600 and would like to see a private thyroid specialist. Does anyone know of a good one in the London area particularly a holistic one who would be more inclined to go down a natural route?

Do you have your sister's thyroid results? Unless her TSH is over range or FT4 below range it is very unlikely she will be diagnosed as hypothyroid and given treatment. There is no natural remedy to replace low thyroid hormone. Only Levothyroxine, Liothyronine or natural dessicated thyroid (NDT) which are all prescription medications will replace low T4 and T3.

Thyroid peroxidase antibodies >600 are positive for autoimmune thyroid disease (Hashimoto's). There is no cure for Hashimoto's which causes 90% of hypothyroidism. Treatment is for the low thyroid levels it causes. Progression to hypothyroidism can be delayed by adopting 100% gluten-free diet which may be helpful in reducing Hashi flares, symptoms and eventually antibodies.
