Hi everyone. Back from a lovely week in the sun and now ready to start taking my unipharma t3 which I finally received from Greece. Please can someone advise me on the doseage, timing etc based on the following.
I am currently on 100mcg levo. I have hovered in the top quarter of the range for t4 on this dose and have also slightly gone over range but have never felt over medicated
My latest results are
November - tsh 0.07 (0.30-4.20);.
November - free t4 16.1 (9.00-19.00)
October - free t3 4.85 (3.1-6.8)
I don't feel too bad but there is definitely room for improvement so really just fine tuning by adding a bit if t3.
I have I
Unipharma 25mcg tablets
Would adding a tiny bit of t3 mean I would have to reduce levo? Or by keeping t3 doseage low coukd I carry on with the 100mcg ? I don't want to start cutting up my levo....however neither do I want to put myself at risk by over medicating.
All thoughts and advice welcome.
Many thanks in advance.

Your FT3 isn't particularly low but raising it between 5.5-6.8 may improve symptoms. I would start by adding 1/4 tablet (6.25mcg) to 100mcg Levothyroxine. If necessary, you could increase to 2 x 6.25mcg after a couple of weeks but do make sure to check FT3 level 6-8 weeks later as it may tip FT3 over range and ideally it will always be <6.8.

I'd reduce levo by 50mcg and add 12.5 (half tablet) of T3 and give it a good two weeks before adding 1/4 T3. Take note of pulse/temp and if either rises too high drop down to previous dose.
I took both together wihen I combined T4/T3, first thing when I got up. It suited my life better by taking one daily dose and not having to remember (it is a life-time of hormone replacement).
