hi . I have been taking iron 3 times a day for 3 months now. These are my results. Shall I continue with supplementation or shall I stop? Any suggestions? Thanks

transferrin saturation 32.84(20-55)

thank you! I will keep on supplementing then.

Ferritin should be half way through it's range, with an absolute minimum of 70 for thyroid hormone to work (your own or thyroid hormone replacement). Eating liver once a week will give your ferritin a much needed extra boost.

Oh yes, definitely continue with the supplements, the liver should boost your ferritin even more.

Is it Ferrous Fumerate you're taking? Or one with less elemental iron?

ferrous fumerate

So that's about the maximum then. It can be a long slow process to raise ferritin, I couldn't take iron supplements but mine has gone up really well with eating liver.

Just a thought Agnes, are you taking each iron tablet with 1000mcg Vit C to aid absorption, and 4 hours away from Levo and other supplements?
