Hi please can someone look at my results. I have suddenly started to feel unwell again. Just wondering if it's my thyroid again. The last test I think was 1.6

Serum TSH level 2.77 mIU/L [0.35 - 4.5]

Thanks Everyone x

Dragon1949 Is that all that was tested, TSH? No FT4?

As it's increased from 1.6 to 2.77 then I would think your symptoms could very well be thyroid related if the tests were done at same time of day each time after an overnight fast. You can only compare accurately if conditions were the same each time.

Are you on thyroid meds? If so did you leave 24 hours after last dose when blood was drawn?

Dragon1949 Have you ever had antibodies tested, do you have Hashimoto's which could explain the fluctuation?

I'd be asking your GP for an increase to 125mcg levo and if he resists ask for FT4 and FT3 to be tested as well as TSH, see how everything compares with last time.

Hi thanks for reply. I had to have full blood tests done as I see nephrologist again this month. All came back normal .I had to really push to have thyroid test and she was adamant she wouldn't do t4 i did ask for full testing but this was what came back on thyroid. She told me if she gives me to much levo it can be life threatening but she did eventually agree to test the thyroid. The previous test was 6weeks ago. So the change is within that time. I will make another appointment to see her next week . Thanks so much for your help. X

Dragon1949 here's an idea. When doc says too much levo can be life-threatening tell her you don't want too much, you want just enough for appropriate therapeutic treatment of your hypothyroidism.

Give me strength. They do say some humdingers.

Informing you that prescribing more levo would be life-threatening is very untruthful. If we were give too much we'd not drop dead but would reduce our dose and/or miss next day's dose as we would feel quite hyper.

You do expect doctors to be more knowledgeable not frighten patients into submission.

Not what you're looking for?
