Under active thyroid: my medication had been reduced from 150 to 100 micro-grams over several years. I now feel very tired, reason given was that I had osteoporosis and that by reducing the dose it would slow down my bone loss. My last blood test Jan 16 showed that my T4 was 14.5 and mt Thyrotropin was 0.642. Is this normal

123Crystal I think the first thing you should do is get up to date thyroid function tests. I don't know if you are in the UK, you haven't put that on your profile, but you should ask for:
TSH
FT4
FT3
TPO antibodies
TG antibodies
Also get vitamins and minerals tested:
Vit D
B12
Folate
Ferritin
Vitamins and minerals all need to be at optimal levels for thyroid hormone to work properly.
If your GP won't oblige then this can be done with a home fingerprick test from Blue Horizon bluehorizonmedicals.co.uk/T... (if you're in the UK).
That will give you a full picture of what's currently going on and you can go from there.
Have you had a bone scan recently? Are you having any medication for the osteoporosis?
With the results you've given above, you've not put the reference ranges so no-one can comment accurately. Ranges differ from lab to lab, one is 12-22, another 7-17, plus others, so always give the ranges so members can interpret. With your FT4 at 14.5 it is possible that it's too low, but you'd need more than that anyway, the FT3 is the most important one.
When you have had those tests done, post the results with their ranges and members will comment.
