I was on treatment for Graves disease for almost 18 months and was told my thyroid was back to normal and stopped the treatment. It's been almost 6 months and the symptoms have started again. Blood tests show that my thyroid is overactive again and have been started on carbimazole 20mg. Am on wk no2 and my ankles are swelling is this normal

Tankhubamusi,

Ah, remission is successful in fewer than 50% of Graves patients :( Some Graves/hyperthyroid patients do experience swelling, hopefully this will improve when the Carbimazole starts working.
