My results

2 months ago:

Tsh 5.7 (0.4-5.5)

Ft4 11.9 (10-19.8)

1 week later at 4pm

Tsh 4.66

Ft4 12.3

TPOab 40 (<60)

One month later from the 2nd test

Tsh 4.26 (0.35-5.5)

Ft4 11.9 (10-19.8)

Ft3 3.8 (3.5-5.3)

How come that the ft4 drops and the tsh drops from test 2 to 3.

The TSH has a daily cycle. Higher early a.m. and then drops throughout the day. Hormones vary all the time that's why it's recommended to have a blood test as early as possible, fasting, although you can drink water to get the most favourable outcome for us personally. Excerpt:

Does it look like I'm getting better with these levels?

Are the tsh higher at 7pm than 9.30 am usually?

Yes, as far as I know. Unfortunately the blood tests don't tell us or the doctor how we are feeling. The doctor believes the TSH tells all but they're wrong.

The way we, the patient, can know is by how we feel and the disappearance of clinical symptoms.

They should concentrate on our symptoms more but they are very badly trained (in my viewpoint) with regard to anything thyroid hormone connected. It is easy to diagnose if TSH is very high or very low but if someone's TSH doesn't fit the bill they remain undiagnosed/undertreated and have awful symptoms.

I'm sorry that I didn't make my questioning clearer.

Do you mean that tsh is usually higher at 7pm or that you think I'm getting better if you just look at my numbers?

O.K. I've looked at your Profile but there's no information.

So, have you been diagnosed as being hypothyroid?

Have you been prescribed levothyroxine?

What dose?

How long have you been taking levo?

The TSH means Thyroid Stimulating Hormone and the is from the Pituitary Gland, not the Thyroid Gland which is the T4, T3, FT4 and FT3.

TSH is higher at 9.30 am than at 7 pm. At 7 pm it will be low. At 7 am, it will be higher than at 9.30 am. The earlier you can have the test, the higher the TSH.

All you test suggest that you are very hypo. We are hypo when your TSH hits 3. But, the TSH is not a very reliable test. The important number is the FT3, and yours is very low. Must too low for good health.

I'm not diagnosed us and I forgot to write that the 1st level is taken at 7pm and that is the highest. The last taken is at 9.20am. A week after that (taken at 4pm) tsh dropped and ft4 up. That makes sense. But the last reading both tsh and ft4 dropped. Which level is the most important

The most important number is the FT3, and yours was only done once, and is very low.

The TSH is only a rough guide, so many things can affect it. But, if you are over 3, then you are hypo. It will go up and down for no apparent reason, which is why it should not be used for dosing.

The FT4 dropping is an indication that you are getting more hypo. And, if the FT3 isn't done, then the FT4 is the most important number.

TSH is probably a bit lower at 7pm than 9.30 am
