Foggy,

It is important to take your thyroid meds on an empty stomach with a glass of water, 1 hour before food, 2 hours before supplements and 4 hours before calcium, iron or vit D supplements.

Be aware that a little green tea is good but too much would be counterproductive as it contains fluoride, known to infiltrate and depress thyroid action.

I take green tea in a combo supplement but it only contains the minutest amount.

I leave two hours before drinking green tea, but don't know about the pills. Water only is probably best.

Thank you Leverette.

I was thinking of having the green tea capauses to help boost my metabolism and other health benefits but not at the detrimental effect of my thyroid meds

You're welcome!

Do you dislike the taste of green tea? I drink it by the litre, but only use a flat teaspoon, then refill the pot 3 times. The last one is almost tasteless, but refreshing. Adding lemon doubles the health benefits.

I'm a traditional tea drinker with sugar so everything else tastes horrible!!!!

I like an occasional pot of earl grey or Bop, but can't drink builders' tea. The tannin gives me a sore throat. I prefer my caffeine in a good cup of coffee!

Hi Foggy73

I drink green tea but in moderation, it's Soya that we must avoid as it counteracts the Thyrocine, also cabbage,Kale& Seaweed. If you have milk in Tes/coffee or on cereal its 4 hrs after taking Thyrocine/Levothyrocine.

I hope this helps

Thanks Karolly. I must admit I don't leave it more than 1 hour before my cup of tea in the morning after my Levothyroxine and Liothyronine and don't seem to have any issues.....well as far as I know!!
