Maybe it dropped your blood pressure? Not sure if few sips can do it, but I occasionally drink hibiscus tea and I can feel a bit dizzy. I have low blood pressure so I have assumed that's it as hibiscus can affect blood pressure.

It had to be the hibiscus tea, i literally had a few small sips and whoosh dizzy lethargy..Very scary from a simple hibiscus tea.

Just put into Google "Hibiscus tea/ blood pressure" and you'll soon see reasons to avoid if you have normal blood pressure

My blood pressure is currently high..My Dr has run some blood tests, results in a couple of days. I bought it because it states it's brings high blood pressure down..

Maybe your blood pressure ain't that high in the end? Have you done measuring at home for a week or two?

Anyway maybe your tea was way stronger than mine. Mine is hibiscus and rose hip just market brand and I usually drink a whole cup before feeling weird. But as hibiscus is also antioxidant I sometimes drink it.

I drank endless cups of it when I was in Egypt. Every shop you go in, they all want you to sit down and have a cup before discussing prices and things. They believe it's very good for you. I met a chap whose family grew hibiscus on their farm, and he gave me a load to bring back. And I never once had any problem with it.

Just an update on Hibiscus tea.. Shortly after that I had on a few occasions felt extremely weak, and feint, a visit to the doctor then hospital after lots of tests revealed Border Pulmonary hypertension. I looked into drinking hibiscus tea and it's effect on blood pressure and low and behold it stated it can affect it.

Yes, but hibiscus tea lowers blood pressure, it doesn't raise it. HYPERtension means high blood pressure, so the hibiscus tea didn't cause that.

I have drank hibiscus tea in Egypt many times I even purchased some..But this Hibiscus tea I purchased online was different..The effect was immediate..Dizzy, palpitations etc..It could only have been due to that..

Due to lowering your blood pressure, not causing hypertension.
