Hi, I posted on here a few weeks back. I was put on Roma Capsules.Orginally i was on Thybon henning tablets 10mg and i was splitting the dose 3 times a day..I have found it difficult to split the capsule. I take 5mg at 7.30 am and 5mg at 4.30 afternoon.Should I take the afternoon one a bit later as I have found that in the morning I'm not feeling that great.Thanks.
T3 Capsules: Hi, I posted on here a few weeks... - Thyroid UK
T3 Capsules
It seems reasonable to try doing that.
But it might be that you are simply not getting enough.
You probably should have a blood test to see where you are.
I got my blood test back on Friday from the hospital. TSH...0.01
FT4...15.5
FT3....5.6. No ranges.
I,ve been told to reduce my levo down to 75mg I am currently taking 100mg.
Trouble is, the FT4 reference interval (range) varies a lot. I suspect they are going by the very low TSH - and nothing else. Without a range, it is really impossible to be sure.
With results like that I'd suggest your fT4 (based on 12-22 range) is on the low side and I'd add a little extra if you have some (this is what I do without bothering to tell them) I'd be thinking an extra 50mcg over the week and see how you feel, I need to keep mine above 50%... my NHS endo tried the same with me reducing my T4 too much in the misguided idea it would raise my TSH 🙄 we now have an agreement to base dose on fT3 & 4 levels and she has stopped discussing TSH (0.05) you have to be firm with them else they will make you worse 🙃
I'm on Roma and though it seemed less potent to start with it seems to work ok, I find it most effective if taken in one dose rather than increasing and splitting
Hi TiggerMeThank you for replying.
I will be getting in contact with my Endo first thing Monday.
It really doesn't make sense to me why he's putting all my medication down.Well I sort of know why ,it's just to get my Tsh levels up,but it's making me feel worse.
Thanks again 🤗
I had to have a bit of a toe to toe with my Endo who threatened to stop treating me if I wouldn't comply... but initially I had complied and it put me back to bed!... I insisted I felt symptom free was more important than TSH and my frees were both within range, resting heart rate 60bpm and low BP....all of a sudden she backed down! I had to agree it was at my own risk of osteoporosis and atrial fibrillation
I've just seen her again for all of 5 mins, she says "we won't discuss TSH again as we don't agree and I'll see you in a year... can we do this by phone next time?" Yes please 😁
Please add ranges on Ft4 and Ft3
Recommended that all thyroid blood tests early morning, ideally just before 9am, only drink water between waking and test and last dose levothyroxine 24 hours before test
This gives highest TSH, lowest FT4 and most consistent results. (Patient to patient tip)
T3 ….day before test split T3 as 2 or 3 smaller doses spread through the day, with last dose approximately 8-12 hours before test
is this how you do your test
Looking like you might need dose INCREASE in Levo if range is 12-22
Many members don’t find Roma as strong as other brands
You might need dose increase
What vitamin supplements are you taking
When were vitamin D, folate, ferritin and B12 last tested
Since being referred to the NHS Endo it's all about getting the Tsh level higher. I,ve really had enough now.I,ve had constant migraines and feeling very weepy. It has,nt helped with my husband having a stroke 2 weeks ago... I need to be well to look after him .I had an idea that the new t3 Roma were not as good as the ones I was taking and my t4 levels don't need to be lowered seeing as their only at 15 and my references ranges are normally 12-22.
I really thought I would be a lot better off seeing the NHS Endo, but obviously not..Just don't know what to do...
