What are you trying to test for?

There is no recommended test for intolerances apart from lactose intolerance, and it is very easy to find out the normal way if you have lactose intolerance.

The recommended test for food allergies is skin patch testing with a medical practitioner who will take a medical history, and history of your symptoms and signs. However you need to have an idea of the food you have a problem with.

Finally there is an antibody test for gluten to see if you have coeliac disease but if you have been gluten free it won't work.

Oh and an elimination diet is the easiest way to see if you have problems with foods. So you need to cut the food out from your diet for 3-4 weeks completely then add it back in to see if your symptoms return.

I take two lots of probiotics and Optibac are always most helpful. I told them about my antibodies problem and wanted to go gluten free and was worried about other foods causing inflammation and they sent these websites The Institute of Functional Medicine, bant.org.uk or cnhc.org.uk

I found a lady on the bant website. She actually came to my home for no extra charge as I don't drive. Was quite enlightening as I was pretty skeptical so never told her anything about myself but the machine picked up straight away that I was intolerant to dairy, eggs and tomatoes which I knew already plus a lot of other things like grains and some things that I found quite disappointing like salmon, Brussel sprouts and several other things. I have only just started going GF, about 6 weeks and I don't know if this is a coincidence or not but I did a Medicheck thyroid test the results of which came back last week and although I still feel rubbish, I found that the antibodies, although still 10 times over the normal range, had come down by over 300 from October.
