Happy bunny this morning.

'Unfortunately we can't deliver your item because there is a fee to pay'

£13.74. On an order which came to £86.40 when converted from USD. Includes the £8 'handling fee'. I love Royal Mail. Complete bunch of sweethearts :D

To be fair, it's not their fault. It's VAT and Customs duty. But it does make things very expensive...

Trust me Jazzw I'm not complaining ! I worked it out at just under double the amount I've been charged ! Happy days xx

That was my first thought. Doesn't the VAT get worked out by Customs who then instruct RM to collect it? Someone's maths is wrong in your favour :)

Oh doh, just worked out what you were really saying. :)

Isn't this how it works...

£86.40 x 20% = £17.28

+ £8 handling charge = £25.28 charges to pay.

If so, then I agree Rapunzel, excellent value via RM. Maybe the employee doing the calculation is suffering from brain fog? ;)

Just seen your reply, Red Apple.

I agree with your maths and I'm awarding us both a gold star ;)

You were lucky!!

Yesterday, i was charged £63.78 for an order from the US for £149.20.

I didn't know they slap on another £20.19 if the order goes over £135.

Not happy:-(

Did they add their loss with you onto mine???
