Breakfast?

I love cornflakes, weetabix or toast. Feeling foolish I thought I'd be ok to eat these but seem to be bloating up more 😟 What's the best thing to eat for breakfast that isn't going to antagonise my symptoms please?

Have you tried a bowl of mixed fruit with yogurt? I really should practise what I preach as carbs are my weakness also.

Many of us find it helpful to go gluten free.

I have scrambled eggs for breakfast, often with mushrooms.

Cereals were only invented in the 1860s, so very recent in man's history.

Yup. Gluten seems to bloat you, I had this, test to exclude celiac then go gluten free completely for at least eight weeks, have a slice of toast then, and see what happens. Not pretty, if you are like me.

You can make your own museli with Gluten free oats - easily available in the "gluten free section" in most supermarkets. Oats are themselves gluten free, but must be processed in a gluten free mill to be listed as gluten free.

Museli - I add chopped figs, apricots, raisins, dates, walnuts, Brazil's (good for selenium), pumpkin seeds (good for Magnesuim), sunflower and flax seeds and chia seed

Gluten free toast - M&S have good range

Gluten (rye, barley and wheat) hidden in lots of things - (read labels carefully) - need to avoid absolutely malt vinegar, soy sauce, most beer,

May be ok if made with spirit vinegar or balsamic - read the labels - BBQ sauces, ketchup, pickles.

Gluten free alternatives are available.

I am not gluten sensitive but can have a little upset tummy/gassy when I eat wheat. I discovered this spelt cereal and, if you love bran flakes or raisen brand cereal sans the raisens, you will love this cereal. I don't even add sugar. It is my 'few times x week' breakfast treat that I usually pair with a boiled egg for protein.

It's rice with me strangely enough. Makes me very bloated. Can eat everything else and doesn't bloat me.

I think it's the bread and weetabix. 2 things I love and can't have-need hormone to kick in. Can I have it then or is it a permanent lifestyle change. Making me feel pretty naff to be honest

Depends on how you feel when you cut them out. If gf works well for you and you feel well you may not want to go back. It made no difference to me so after a year I stopped worrying about it.

I quite like the Genius gf bread if you feel you don't want to do without toast.

I have porridge with Greek yoghurt and blueberries. Filling but not bloating
