juliarees82 I'm taking the same doses in combo as you are and I've not had that problem, however I did take it very slow, starting with 6.25mcg T3 and left it probably 3 weeks before I increased to 12.5.

Thanks Susie I've dropped back to 6.25 so hopefully it will calm x

Have you started any new vitamins or minerals recently? When I started taking methylcobalamin in high doses I got very spotty for nearly 3 months, but then the problem went away and my skin looked better that it had done for years.

I'm taking b12 as cyanocobalamin? Which is included in healthy harmony thyroid support as well as vitamins C and iron

That is the cheapest form and not as good as methylcobalamin in being absorbed according to the knowledgable folk who post here.

It is often better to have separate supplements rather than a multi mix which often have very little of each nutrient.I do not know this product that you take but to use an analogy the manufacturer of pain treatment nurofen had started marketing specific packets for different types of pain. But the product was no different and they have been told to stop. What is specific about this thyroid product as opposed to being also suitable for other ailments. It may be fine but you need to check.

Oh! Ok I will get them separately thank you

Some things to consider when buying supplements - things like multi-vitamins are often made with very cheap forms of supplement.

For example, cyanocobalamin (a form of B12) doesn't occur in nature, it is completely artificial. It is only found in supplements, never in the body and never in food.

Magnesium is a good thing to supplement. But the form of magnesium often found in supplements is magnesium oxide. It won't do any harm that I'm aware of, but it won't do much good either. Only about 4% of the magnesium in magnesium oxide is absorbed by the body.

Iodine/kelp - There are arguments galore about whether people with thyroid problems should take iodine. If people live in an iodine-deficient part of the world then it might seem reasonable. But few of us posting on a UK forum do. Before supplementing iodine people should find out if they are deficient.

Another problem with products with multiple ingredients is that the dosage provided is too small to do any good.

At the start of treating ourselves I would definitely suggest supplementing vitamin D, vitamin B12, folate and iron, IF necessary. Once we have those sorted out we can move on to other things.

Sorry if this comes across as a lecture. It wasn't intended to sound like that! :D
