It's called mucin . It's thickened gel under the skin . It comes from being hypothyroid .
From just above knees to ankles - used to be whole leg so must be improving
The only skin on my whole body that I can pinch up is on the backs of my hands. The rest is mucin - more or less water-logged, depends. Had it most of my life without realising what it was!
I was like that then I went on auto immune paleo diet and a lot of the hard swollen skin went but I still have these solid ridges in places, a lot of my swellings was from the foods that didn’t agree with me
