Send Tiromel by post?

Does anyone know if it's OK to post supplies of Tiromel to myself from Cyprus to UK? I'm off there this month and would love to stock up but wondered if posting to UK would be better than bringing it back in my hand luggage??

Scarlet001,

You can bring up to 3 months worth of meds for your personal or household use in your baggage. As people take varying amounts of thyroid meds who's to say how much you should be taking in 3 months :)

Tiromel is Turkish T3 so if you are in the Greek part of the island and it isn't available ask for Uni-Pharma.

Thank you! It will be great to be back on Tiromel.

Scarlet001 If you're worried, why not do what Clutter says and bring some home in your luggage, but also post some to yourself from Cyprus. I've had some sent from Cyprus with no problem, the supplier there does it regularly. Just use those padded envelopes and take the blister packs out of the boxes to make more room in the envelope.

Many thanks - I don't want to risk getting in to trouble!

Well Scarlet001 I bought 1200 Uni Pharma back from mainland Greece a few months ago (40 boxes) in my suitcase, not knowing of Clutter 's pronouncement of the rules. Maybe the trick is to look clueless; not difficult for me. :D

I plan to repeat my stunt in October, reassured by the nonsense of 'use by' dates I have read on the forum - not for T3, just generally edition.cnn.com/2012/10/08/... another find from the invaluable Clutter

For personal use officer innit tho

Regarding expired medication, I have a rather disgusting story.

I have had eczema for decades. It varies in severity quite dramatically, and sometimes even goes away for quite a while. I have some treatment for it that I find works extremely well but it is a powerful steroid and I use it very sparingly.

When the expiration date comes along I usually have quite a bit left in the bottle. So I ignore it and carry on using it. I only actually ask for a new bottle when the one I have starts to smell. It still works even then.

:p

It's not disgusting at all hb; think of the money you're saving the nhs with your whiffy endeavours ! Bet it keeps the flies down, too...honestly tho I think we're all a bit mad now with these use by dates. It's all very well the food standards agency saying we're throwing too much food away, our over zealous rejection of stuff just past its sell by date is a scandal that's been foisted on us by the supermarkets. I love a root around the chiller cabinet of shame in my local supermarkets ! Oops indeed ! :P

The important issue is that if you carry it yourself, you need to be able to honestly claim that it is entirely for you and members of you household. (I'd interpret that as people in same family living in the same house.)

Leave it in its original packaging. Do not accept opened or part-used packs.
