So, after months of following the site and seeing myself in so many of you out there I know I have to bite the bullet and go for self medication. I know all my levels are low from my first post but want to get all my bloods done again. Is the Blue Horizon plus 12 test enough or do I need any extra tests on top? Just want to make sure I have all the right info to report back to you guys who to be honest amaze me with your knowledge! I would like to try the Greek NDT after years of being on just levothyroxine so if anyone buys this would you kindly PM me with the details.
Now I have made the decision to take back my life I am really very excited. Thank you all in advance for taking the time to read and reply.

Sorry. That's the brain fog not making myself clear. Yes after reading the Greek t3 seems really popular. Or would NDT be better at making me more me? There is a blood place just 10 miles away that I can get the BH Bloods done so can that's not a problem, just because I want to start off with everything I need done to get a much wider picture than I. Getting from my GP. I thought I would have a good starting point. I'm just not sure if I should have any extra on top of plus 12?
Hi, I'm up to 2 grains NDT now and awoke at 3 a.m feeling anxious and sweaty. Not so unusual these days but certainly not better than on 1.5 G. I'm seriously considering going back to Levo now and perhaps tweaking with T3. When I initially tried Levo I was on 100 mgm and was disappointed with results but perhaps should've tried increasing dose of Levo.instead of trying NDT. Also at that time I was probably very low on Vit D but that only came to light in last year . . plus I wasn't taking levo without coffee/breakfast because I didn't realise I should,
I've got my results from that time which sadly are for TSH only and they were well in range usually low end.
Having read this morning that NDT is 80/20 T4/T3 and humans are normally 94/6 it makes me wonder if my ratios are the problem. You suggest NDT to be you're last choice hence the above.
No-one knows whether desiccated thyroid would be better for you than liothyronine - or the reverse.
I suspect that the Greek Uni-Pharma liothyronine is so popular for one reason above all else - it is accessible. That is, it can be obtained readily without a prescription AND it is priced such that it is affordable.
After all, it didn't seem to get many good comments when the Mexican Grossman Cynomel was available. However, that is not saying there is anything wrong with it at all.
I know. That's what worries me a little. Some say it's very weak others rave about it but like you say could it be its the only one that we can get our hands on. Being in the uk is there another brand that you could recommend more?

Scoobylou I recently did the blue horizon thyroid 12 test and it was really informative and the service was excellent (compreshensive dr. Comments too).
This will sound crazy but I got my husband to do the blood sample! He'd done it 25 years ago at university but to be honest we looked at youtube videos and it's a vacutainer that's sent out to take the sample and they're really user friendly (it's a little vacuum tube which stops drawing blood when the pressure equalises).
I found it better than all the professional blood samples I've had taken. I know this would definitely not be for everyone but I feel so rubbish I couldn't face going to one of the private hospitals for testing.
Thank you it's good to know that someone else has used BH. I am looking forward to seeing the results so I can get then posted and hopefully start to take back some kind of control.
