Because you have an under-active thyroid. Those are symptoms. What are you taking, and how much? Do you have any labs to share - with the ranges, of course?
Hi, I have no labs at the mo, but due to see endo in 3 weeks, been underactive for over 2 years now, started to feel ok after being put on 75 of thyroxine but this last few months felt awful just shaking all the time and feeling so hot and tired, my app are 7 mths apart also my bloods, due to him being busy, but this time, i will have to tell him i need bloods doing more frequent and app. but not sure why the shaking is going on feel awful. appreciate all your help.
Shaking is often due to low adrenals - adrenal fatigue. But it's difficult to find a doctor that knows anything about that. Still, suggest it to your endo.
Try ringing the endo's secretary, and ask for your last results. It is your legal right to have them. But, don't forget to ask for the ranges, the numbers mean nothing without the ranges.
Hi, just had blood tests back TSH 0.10 B12 .6L Folate 6.9 Ferritin 74 now taking 25mg levo in the morning with 25 T3 then 25 T3 at night to see if things improve. i have no clue what the results means but would appreciate if you can help, also gaining weight like mad only been on T3 2 weeks was on 75 levethyroxine
Linda, not sure I've understood all that. He took you off 75 mcg levo and put you on 25 mcg levo and 50 mcg T3? The man is mad! You can't just go onto 50 mcg T3 just like that.
I don't know, I'm no expert, but it seems to me you should have started by adding 5 mcg to your 75 levo and slowly increasing as you slowly lower your levo.
I would suggest you start a new thread, explaining all that, and ask for other people's opinions, but that's the way it seems to me. When are your next labs?
What is that figure for you B12? 0.6? What's the ranges? It can't possibly be that low. However, your folate is low... if your B12 is that low, you really need to be tested for Pernicious Anemia.

As you are newly diagnosed, I am afraid we've all gone through very similar to you and we just don't know what is going on as we usually feel worse when first on thyroid hormone replacements. It does come as a surprise as I know I was far worse after being diagnosed and given meds than before. I'm glad to say I am now well.
Due to the fact that levo has to be introduced gradually, with an increase about every six weeks until we feel much better (not when the doctor decides we are now 'in range' and stops increasing).
When you go for your next blood test, make the appointment at the very earliest and don't eat before it. You can drink water. Allow 24 hours between your last dose of levo and the test and take it afterwards as it can skew results if taken before.
Always get a print-out with the ranges for your own records and you can post if you have a query.
