Do you have any results with ranges you could post ? Sometimes it is not necessary to reduce the T4 when adding T3. Depends where in the range your FT4 and FT3 levels are ......

I was on the same Levo dose as you, and told by my endocrinologist to take 50mgs of Levo and take the T3 as two halves over the day. So 50mg Levo on waking, 12.5 T3 before lunch, and 12.5 T3 late afternoon/before evening meal. If I took the T3 later I found it hard to go to sleep. I also lowered my Levo to 50mgs for a few days before I added in the T3, as Levo stays in your body and I was concerned I might become over medicated. If you feel a bit hyper taking both halves of the T3 straight away, just take one half. I took two halves one day, then one the next, and did that for a few days. T3 has a shorter half life than Levo, and the level will fall quickly if you need to reduce your dose.

Just because you were on the same dose of Levo, doesn't mean your blood tests were the same, and that's what she should go by. :)

I wasn't expecting that she would follow me exactly, just offering up what I'd been advised to do by my endocrinologist. When you self medicate you are left unsupported by a doctor.

Starting on 20 of T3 is in my opinion too much too start with. It is often suggested on this forum to start LOW and SLOW - you need to halve the T3 tablet and take one half in the morning for a couple of weeks and when you feel stable then you can add in the other half.

Try and read as much as you can from other posts and other experiences ..... It is NOT a quick fix.

When you have your results - with ranges - let's talk again. I am reluctant to advise without them :-)

OK so T3 is very fast acting and T4 is a storage hormone - so even if you reduce the T4 it will be quite a while before your body feels the effects. With T3 you can feel the activity within 20 minutes or so.

Start checking your pulse and temperature around twice a day - first BEFORE you get out of bed and later in the day. so when you start to introduce and your pulse increases you will know that you are going too fast. You need to monitor things for yourself ....
