Has anyone noticed headaches occurring on T3? I'm on 10mcg's daily (started with 5) along with 112 mcg of Levo. I feel like they're becoming a daily occurrence. I started on T3 September 20th, so it hasn't been very long. Can I just stop taking it and have my levo increased without weaning off?

T3 and Headache's?
It’s probably a bit high. May be related to caffeine? If you stop it you may need to replace with Levo to feel well, but why are you taking it. Reducing dose for one day may help you decide what to do. It has a short half life so no need to wean off gradually but leave a day before increasing Levo.
Yes... I’d never noticed it before I had to stop taking it!
It may be slightly too much for you or fillers that are the problem. Might be worth looking into that first or sharing your new bloodsfor comments.
Are you taking as split dose - 5mcg morning and 5mcg in afternoon?
What are your vitamin levels like?
Yes you may be over medicated (have you had your t3 tested recently?) If not, do try splitting your dose if you don't already do so. I had headaches every day but I now split my dose in 3 (I'm t3 only & take 30mc, 10mc at a time) and now I have no headaches. I also avoid caffeine & alcohol most of the time because my body now reacts quite badly to these stimulents. Best of luck x
Years ago I started T3 by adding 20mcg to my existing 125mcg Levo with no headaches; stopped it with no tapering down, courtesy of the delightful CCG, and a few months ago started it again at 20mcg with no problem. It's impossible to second guess what and how a drug will affect each person. However, your dose is very low and I certainly wouldn't be halving it to 5mcg X 2. I think it was Dr John Lowe (and if not, some one equally well regarded) who said there needed to be sufficient T3 in a dose to, if you like, get the metabolism going in the morning, and likened it to sea water bridging a sea wall. If you read Paul Robinson's views/books on using T3 you'll see he would never recommend equal dosing, always the high dose in the morning and lower throughout the day.
I haven't had headaches but when mine was stopped and I sourced from abroad two different makes gave me dizziness. Not everyone gets that so we are all different. I'd try leaving it off and see if the headaches go.
Hi with me it is the levo that gave me headaches.
The addition of t3 made me feel alive again.Im sensitive to the fillers in levo so stick to a brand that doesn't affect you.
Hi, I did have quite strong headaches after starting to take NDT.
I thought it may have been caffeine withdrawal but in this instance it had been quite some time since having anything caffeinated.
It did subside after a while and now it's fine, but was worrying for a while.
When i was using synthetic T4 and added T3 i experienced immediate dail headaches, stomachaches, hunger, constipation. I made sure the T4 was lowered and started out on a low dose of T3. I worked with the time, the doses but no change. The levels stayed the same as well. The T3 did not improve my FT3. Only when i switched to desiccated was when i felt normal and had/have good levels.
Measure your blood pressure (BP)! T3 can affect your BP and you do not want that. If your headache is due to an increase in your BP then you must reduce the T3 dose or stop taking it altogether. High BP and headaches can be the precursor of a stroke, I recommend you measure your BP without delay and again when you are experiencing a headache.
Thank You for the information. I stopped the T3 yesterday.
