Does anyone know where to obtain Vitamin B complex without B12 please? Every one I have found so far includes B12 of which I already have.
Vitamin B complex: Does anyone know where to... - Thyroid UK
Vitamin B complex
Seeking Health have a product called B Minus. No B12 or Folate.
Hope this helps greenfingers.

B 12 is usually the most expensive vitamin in the B family and I doubt you will find a formula that doesn't include it. But some have tiny, tiny amounts of B 12. Maybe look for those?
You cannot overdose on B12 - so the more the merrier for me
But there can be side effects ,google B12 side effects for various reviews.
...I did say for me Treepie I do NOT have a Terminal Ileum where the B12 is metabolised with bacteria for its journey back to the liver ....
I am on the PAS forum so yes I have read about side effects and have answered peoples questions about them appropriately. There is so much to learn about B12 and the various problems involved.
Marz ,i know you are more clued up than me. The usual response about B12 and I have given it to queries is that excess is no problem because it is excreted .This in itself may be correct but i think now ,having seen the list of potential side effects it is worth mentioning. Apparently supplementing B12 if you have just had a stent fitted is not a good idea and more prosaically the itchy back i had seems to have been a B12 effect.
.....of course we are all so different. Are you balancing the B12 with a good B Complex ? Maybe you would be better with Methylfolate rather than Folic Acid in your complex if you are taking one. Methylfolate is natural and the Folic Acid is synthetic. Some people have problems with methylation and in some cases the B12 cannot reach the cells...... Yes I have heard of B12 causing itchy skin - but I would rather have that than dementia
In addition to Jarrows B12 ,which i have cut down on, i am taking NutriShield premium , Dr Myhill recommended the company Univite at the last Thyroid UK conference( not from the stage i should add). It contains six tablets/ capsules supposedly the nutrients are in " the most bio- available form" .
Maybe?
Included is 6.75mcg of B12 as cyanocobalamin, which on query the Dr behind the company reckons is bio eqivalent to methylcobalamin, niacin( B3), pantothenic acid( B5) 11.25 mg, Thiamin( B1) 7.5, Riboflavin( B2) 7.5mg, B6 as pyridoxine hydrochloride (7.5mg), Folic acid (B9) 200 mcg, Biotin( B7) 150mcg.
I suspect there are some cheaper versions of vits here but at just under £30 a month as it is I will live with that for the comprehensive offering.
Does anyone know of a good soluble or chewable Vitamin B complex as my son cannot swallow large tablets. I have looked at Barocca but they look very weak compared to the B-100 Vitamin B-Complex tablets that I get from H&B, they are just too big for him to swallow.
I assume you are referring to these:

What I intensely dislike about such products is that they rely on numerical values of 100 (whether milligrams or micrograms) for most constituents. They should be formulated with an appropriate balance in terms of biological effect rather than balanced arithmetic.
Thiamine and riboflavin are very important and generally regarded as safe even in fairly high doses. But why actually formulate the product to have more than 70 times as much as is needed?
As for B6, that is something many people cannot tolerate in such large doses. They even say in their own description:
Long term intake of amounts greater than 10mg daily of Vitamin B6 may lead to mild tingling and numbness.
I guess it comes down to cost helvella.
Using reputable supplement makers//suppliers hopefully helps us to receive good quality products presented in the best possible ratios instead of bulking with the cheaper vitamins, etc.
But marketing strategies target those people who often consider more as better ! ! ! ..
Thanks for all your comments, very interesting reading.
Yep, Biocare do without B12 & Folate
Thanks QUE6T-33, will have a look.
