When you say you want to try Armour, do you mean that exactly or do you mean you want to try dessiccated thyroid extract/natural dessiccated thyroid (NDT)?

There are several brands of NDT, Armour is just one of them. And Armour is the most expensive brand of NDT in the world.

Look at this page :

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/treatm...

and click on "Non-UK Dessiccated Thyroid (aka NDT)" for a list of some of the varieties of NDT that are available.

Some varieties of NDT, not mentioned on that link I gave, come from Thailand (there are three types), and the Thai brands are the cheapest there are.

Tyna20,

1 grain Armour (65mg) contains 38mcg T4 and 9mcg T3 which is equivalent to 65mcg Levothyroxine.  It's usually recommended to start at half to 1 grain to see how you react to the T3.  You could halve your Levothyroxine dose and add 1 grain Armour for two weeks, then halve Levothyroxine dose and add half grain Armour at two week intervals until you are taking 2 grains.

Please do not do a direct swap.  Start NDT at a low dose and build up over a few weekx.I have a theory that doctors tell you to do a direct swap so they can say ' See it doesn't work' .  Personally I stopped levo for 2 weeks before starting NDT.

Hi. I used Armour 10 days, lost 5 kg and all terrible Hashimoto's side effects,  but....

Armour contents difficult for digestion protein.!!! You must be sure that adrenal glands

are OK. My kidney started protesting.Another important issue is to use the same

Manufacturer. Thyroid gland is extremely sensitive / The conductor of our Body !

So I  went back to square one- Euthyrox.

Found solution with China acupuncture 20 min. twice  weekly for two months.

Thyroid gland's function improves, metabolism as well.No bones pain etc. Feel great.!!!

The food is important. No gluten  content at all.

The main task  is to get to the roots of the matter.

I am not Endocrinologist. Just shared my experience.

Good Luck
