What was the dose of the 2 tablets per week?

Hi

I really like this one:

amazon.co.uk/Vitamin-K2-1oz...

£22 but lasts for ages, each drop is 500iu.

Doctor's Best do a softgel D3 in 5 and 1000IU doses which should ideally be taken with a good K2 supplement to redirect the calcium away from the arteries. Ideally take daily with a meal containing healthy fats to aid absorption. 5000IU daily is a classed as a maintenance dose by the Vitamin D Council.

Hi hunny59 would you be able to recommend a good K2 supplement?

I personally use Jarrows Mk-7 (90mg) which are widely available. Hope this helps :)

Thank you, that is really helpful! . I'm also looking at taking magnesium but the tablets I got were huge, easily broke in two, but I was still struggled to swallow them. Do you know if magnesium is available in any easier to swallow forms?

Even better, it can easily be absorbed through the skin. If you have trouble with tablets, try putting a cup of Epsom salts on a hot bath and soaking for a minimum of 25 minutes. There are also magnesium sprays which are widely available for spraying on the skin - that should help :)

If you say what your loading doses were, ie how much you were taking per week, then suggestions can be made. If you were on a mega loading dose you might find your level has increased a fair bit in seven weeks. You really need a test to see where you are now so you don't take too much. If your level is less than 50nmol/L my suggestion would be for 5000iu daily during the winter and retest in the spring, then if you've reached 100-150nmol/L (recommended level) I would reduce to a maintenance dose of either 5000iu alternate days or 2000iu daily.

I agree with Hunny59's suggestion of Doctors Best softgels. It's what I used to start with, only two ingredients so no fillers or anything to worry about, and it contains olive oil so already has a certain amount of fat to help absorption.

Don't forget you need K2-MK7 and magnesium, important cofactors when taking D3.

Not what you're looking for?
