Morning everyone😊

I'm just writing to share my blood results experience. I was diagnosed with ME ( now think it is Lupus after daughter & niece diagnosed with Lupus) in 1985. I am also diabetic & hypothyroid, have asthma and 4 prolapsed lumber vertebrae( not moaning I know a lot of people have worse!)☺️

I had to have blood results to check how levo was performing and I asked for a printout. It showed my TSH levels were under 2 in 2005 then shot up to 6.5 in 2006. From 2006 until last year ( I was diagnosed last year when I saw a new GP about something else!) my results my TSH levels were above 6 and there were exclamation marks next to each result. My new GP tutted & shook her head and started me on levo immediately. I have felt very ill since 1985 when I developed ME/ lupus so have always put everything I was feeling down to that. I always go back to see GP for my blood results now and ask to see them!

Hope you all have a good day bless you all xxx

Can you post your most recent results to include the FT4 and the FT3. Do you have thyroid anti-bodies ? I notice you may have other auto-immune issues so a thyroid one would not be a surprise. I see you also post on the Fibro forum - so I would think that your FT3 is very low.

It would appear to me that your lack of thyroid diagnosis for so many years - contributed to the diagnosis of ME/CFS/Fibro....

Do you have your test results for B12 - VitD - Folate - Ferritin ? All need to be OPTIMAL for you to feel well.

Thank you for your lovely message Marz, my GP only gave me the TH results I don't think she really knows much about Thyroid issues, not one GP in my practise picked it up that I was hypo, it was only when a new doctor started last year that she commented, it had been low since 2005😒

Sorry I haven't replied til now I have been really ill with it and still am. It doesn't help that my lovely husband has night seizures ( he had a mini stroke at 48, 10 years ago) so I never get sleep and I'm struggling to run my own home based business

Just take it easy.  Maybe when you feel stronger you can collect your blood test results from the surgery to see what they have tested.

These are my suggestions :- TSH - you have - so the FT4 - FT3 - Anti-TPO - Anti-Tg.  Also B12 - Ferritin - Folate - VitD.  May I also suggest your husband has the same tests if at all possible.  You can have them done privately through Thyroid UK in the comfort of your own home.  It would be a sure way to find out where your FT3 is - as I am thinking it will be low along with the vitamins and minerals.  Labs rarely test the FT3 if the TSH is in range.
