There's no history in your Profile about your journey. i.e. are you hypo, when diagnosed etc. If you're on hormones your TSH is too high and this is a link which is self explanatory.

If hypo and on levo we feel best when TSH is around 1 or lower.

Welcome and it might be easier to win the lottery than find a doctor who really knows how to treat patients other than only taking the TSH into account.

We have to do as you've done today, join a forum and ask questions and read as much as possible.

For a start this is from Thyroiduk.org.uk whose website also has lots of info and the following is a link from them:-

From this you will see that your TSH result would indicate you are hypothyroid but you need other tests too.

thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin...

Ask your GP for a full thyroid function test (I think you're entitled to it as you've had a hemithyroidectomy. Tell him your high TSH can be indicative of hypo as you've had the op. He might say you have to wait till TSH is 10 (which is ridiculous) when taking symptoms into account.

TSH, T4, T3, Free T4 and Free T3, Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate.

The test should be at the very earliest and fast. You can drink water. This allows the TSH to be at its highest and that's all they may pay attention to.

Get a print-out with the ranges and post on a new question for comments. Ask GP for a trial of levothyroxine.
