Having thyroid function test on Thursday, any tips to help me get the best possible result?

I’m having a thyroid function test on Thursday. I had my dosage reduced to 100 per day just before Christmas (I was previously taking 125 per day), and the doctor said to have another blood test in six weeks.

I wouldn’t mind going back up to 125 per day, so to give myself the best possible chance of this happening, I think my TSH needs to be slightly raised?

My blood test is at 9.10am (it’s the earliest slot I could get), so obviously I won’t take any thyroxine that morning. Also, I think I should skip breakfast, and just have water (but is coffee allowed)?

Any other tips would be gratefully received!
