Getting tests & results by Thursday afternoon

Morning all,

Please can you share any suggestions on how to get tests (& then the results!) fast?

I need a full thyroid profile (to see if vitamins are better now) and adrenal saliva tests ideally.

I have a private GP's appointment and the tests they sent last Tuesday haven't arrived... so I'm looking for backup!

Any help and suggestions gratefully received.

(I'm based in Gloucestershire if that helps)

Monitor my Health have been reported to be pretty fast with results. but they don't do saliva tests, might have to look elsewhere for those. Have a look at the list and remember to use the discount code. thyroiduk.org/help-and-supp...

Thanks Jaydee1507 - I'll have a look into them. If they're attached to the Inuvi lab then it might be viable as I live near to them and it looks like I could deliver my tests to the lab myself which takes a whole day out of the chain (this is the lab the doctor uses...)

Suggest you rebook appointment

Even if you order test kit today it’s unlikely to arrive at your house before Tuesday or Wednesday.

Alternatively you could possibly get tested in private hospital near you

You're probably right... it's an 8 week wait though!!!

Your appointment is this coming Thursday? In that case you wouldn't be able to send away for a kit, get it delivered, send the sample back and get the results returned in that time.

It takes a few days after ordering to get the kit from any of the testing companies.

I've just done a MMH test and as usual their results were available 2 days after they received my sample.

Medichecks and Blue Horizon can be 1 day but sometimes it's 2 days.

I have a private GP's appointment and the tests they sent last Tuesday haven't arrived... so I'm looking for backup!

Is it possible the results will be available by Thursday? Can you chase these up?

Thanks SeasideSusie - the problem is that the tests haven't arrived yet!! They were sent first class mail on Tuesday morning so either the post is slow or they've gone astray. I have sent an email to the doctor's office to see if they have any tracking and am hoping that in the circumstances they can be helpful in some way.

I'm annoyed with myself because I know I should have got the tests ordered earlier but there's been a lot going on at home, I haven't felt great and I suppose we all know that's the way it goes sometimes...

ETA I'm a 30 min drive from the Inuvi labs so hoping they may be able to help me out!!

Thanks all, I think I'm sorted with a bit of luck and a following wind... I need to get onto the private GP's surgery first thing Monday and ask them to either resend the test guaranteed before 9am the next day, or OK me to collect from Inuvi's lab - then I do the tests and drop off at Inuvi, they can process within 24 hours. They are a supplier to clinics etc and unfortunately don't supply direct to the public, though I wonder if some of the other test companies use them too (think I've heard the name mentioned).

Medichecks use INUVI.
