I have been diagnosed with hyperthyroidism. I am taking Tapdin. Do you know any natural cure for this? Thank you.

I haven't heard of Tapdin but when I looked it up it seems to be an antithyroid drug similar to carbimazole.

I'm afraid I don't know of any natural cures. I'm in remission from Graves which is hyper with antibodies - not taking any meds at all now but I took carbimazole alone for two months then carbimazole and thyroxine for another eight months.

Might be worth posting your blood results along with their lab ranges and any other blood tests you've had done - vitamin D, B12, ferritin and folates - you want all of those to be near the top of their ranges to benefit your thyroid.

Unfortunately, I have not yet found natural remedies for either Hypo or Hyperthyroid. I was told many years ago to avoid certain foods, I ignored that advice. Much as we dislike taking medications, they are necessary. With specific medical conditions, there are side effects, we can do so much to help ourselves, a sensible diet, safe exercise that is right for you. Have you seen a cardiologist yet.? Please do not try and use other remedies that are not prescribed for you, it could make things worse.

Please take care of yourself.

Its been 8 months since i last visited my doctor. But i am still taking the medicine she prescribed me. I am also avoiding food with iodine like seafoods to make sure it will not get worse.

What dose are you on?

Have you had regular blood tests ie 8 - 12 wks?

How do you feel in general?

Have you had your antibodies tested to see if you have Graves disease?

I see by some of your other posts that you are having other problems, this may be due to too high a dose of antithyroid medication making you hypo.

You are doing the right thing. You get all the iodine in the foods you eat. You can eat fish such as cod. Do not use Kelp, do not use iodised salt. Cut down on the salt intake anyway. I don't add salt to my cooking, enjoy your food. I enjoy salmon. I keep a check on the platelets. I do have a problem, as long as the INR levels are within range, I am happy. I still have to be careful.

Best wishes from me to you.
