Does anyone know if your T3 is high, would that be why your CRP and Ferritin are high too? I'm sorting the T3 as have cut back on my NDT, just trying to work out what I should do about the other two.
Thanks 😊

I think it is more likely they are all caused by inflammation
Thanks
They are inflammation markers but it does depend on how high, slightly raised or significantly raised mean different things
Thanks
Epicmom, in the presence of inflammation and/or infection both CRP and Ferritin will be high
Causes are numerous.
A high-sugar, processed foods diet leading to candida (feeds on iron) and SIBO which inevitably lead to leaky gut and food allergies and sensitivities are all individually and collectively possibilities
gluten is another possibility for high CRP - on the other hand it inhibits the iron absorption
Inflammatory fats ( processed vegetable oils and trans fats)
Stress
Hidden or chronic infections with viruses, bacteria, yeasts or parasites
Mold and other environmental allergens
Toxicity from an overload of environmental toxins
High levels of T3 in the blood require high levels of circulating iron rather than the stored ones ie ferritin
It depends how high these levels are but best to get to the bottom of it and sort this.
I hope this helps.
Thanks, I eat very little Sugar and processed food and don't eat gluten. I have adrenal fatigue so the stress thing could be the issue.
Epicmom,
There are many reactive proteins and any raised level results should be looked at as a whole pictures ( ferritin being a well known one).
MelanieLondon gives a good explanation above.
I just wanted to add if you have Hashimotos, a high thyroid antibody count can often go hand in hand with high inflammation markers.

Aah thanks. Was busy typing out results as you sent that. Yes I have hashimotos and my abs are quite low at the minute, maybe the gluten thing is working! !! That could certainly explain the high inflammation makers. Thanks
My Dec bloods
Crp 4.20 <3.0
Ferritin 249.3 20 - 150
Free T3 8.0 3.1 - 6.8
TPO ab 99.2 <34
TGB ab 98.5 <115
Then my Feb bloods having cut back 0.5 grain.
CRP 3.9 <3.0
Ferritin 235.2 20 - 150
Free T3 7.39 3.1 - 6.8
TPO ab 121.7 <34
TGB ab 165.7 <115
I have now cut back another 0.5 grain and apart from the antibodies, think I'm going in the right direction.
Really value any thoughts
Epicmom,
Thyroid antibodies are still raised even though you say they are reducing.
Like thyroid symptoms, inflammatory markers can take a while to reduce even when the cause has been eliminated as the immune system as to recover.
If your inflammation is due to high antibodies it should (hopefully) reduce as antibodies lower. Supplementing selenium 100mcg will not only help to lower TPOAb's but also convert T4-T3.
Because the immune system is in a heightened state, many experience an over reaction to gluten ( and dairy) which can cause autoimmune damage to the intestines resulting in poor absorption of nutrients. Many members have found a totally gluten free diet is beneficial.
You will help lower antibodies by getting thyroid hormones balanced and calming the immune system.
I supplement theraputic doses of Curcumin & Resveratrol that work together in supporting regulatory T cells that regulate the activity of TH-17, TH-1, and TH-2. Healthy living and addressing any issues such as leaky gut, blood sugar issues, adrenal fatigue, anaemia, or parasite//bacterial infections will help further..
Having one autoimmune disease and unchecked antibodies may predispose you to others. Common ones found together with Hashimotos are Rheumatoid Arthritis, Pernicious Anaemia and Celiac Disease.

Indeed, Curcumin, is not only has anti-inflammatory properties but also has lots of other benefits as listed by Flower007. I, too, take daily therapeutic dose of it.
