At last the US is changing their stance on foods, apart from saturated fats.

They still won't advocate the good fats, I cook with, virgin coconut oil mainly, ghee, and palm oil, and only cold extra virgin olive oil, on my salads. Kerrygold butter is the best, non-cafo fed mainly, the only one that I can find in the uk, without going to a local farmer, and that goes in my one daily coffee, absolutely delicious, oh and sometimes goat's butter.

The new drug replacing the statins, is even worse!!!

At least I know that I am doing everything right in my diet, and this is exactly what my body wants, so I am lucky that I only crave the good stuff, and not the rubbish.

We heard bad reports about palm oil so use grapeseed oil or hempseed oil, and organic olive oil for salads. As butter I only use organic butter (without the added salt).

Some people consider rapeseed oil to be good for one's health. I don't. I even ask myself now about the health benefit of the new pots/pans covered in ceramic . I think that the old stainless steel type (18/10) should still be the best for cooking in.

What do you think?

Please Don't use palm oïl, they are destroying the rain forests in order to grow it. Don't encourage them.

HI greygoose, I have only once used Palm oil to try it, not my preferred oil, too strong tasting, I much prefer my virgin coconut oil. I only mentioned is, as it is one of the good saturated fats. Hey Kerrygold butter is on offer for only £1 at Asda, I will load up on it, as I just love it in my coffee, and that's from Ireland, and hopefully Happy Cows.

Have you checked out the Happy eggs, my eldest buys them, but they have the same pale yellow yolks as the normal battery cheapie ones, so they have to be lying. Need to have a closer look at that one, am going to check out their website.

I Don't doubt that palm oïl is a good oïl, but the production is unethical - anyone that cares about the planet, will avoid it. Asda and happy eggs Don't apply to me because I live in France. But thanks for the tip. :)

Of course, you can just buy at the local farms, lucky you, something that I miss not living there anymore, plus the non-pasturized fresh milk, and the fresh cheeses. When I go to Crete, straight to the farmer's market, and the little old bearded lady, for my mizithra, totally delish!!
