NDT

Please could anyone post on here, or message me with the details of a doctor who will prescribe NDT? I will travel, I am based in Lancashire and could travel anywhere in the North, will go south if necessary. I feel like my health is falling apart on Levothyroxine. I'm desperate.

People here often have more knowledge than specialists -

There is one who works in the NHS and at a private hospital in Elland ,West Yorks.

I suspect he only prescribes initially privately but do not know for certain.He will want to carry out blood and maybe other tests first to rule out other causes of your illness. So gets expensive .

I had the same problem no doctor or endocrinologist would prescribe either T3 or NDT no matter how I felt in fact last endo got really annoyed at my even asking , " we don't prescribe NDT and that's an end to it" only alternative was to self medicate so I opted for thyrogold ( dr John Lowe) . I started taking it in April of last year and feel so much better , no pain, no numbness ,no tremors , no palpitations etc and more energy , I just e mail to U.S. And arrives in a few days .

Hi , you just need to  type in ' thyrogold' or 'how to order thyrogold' all the info is there for you . You can buy it without prescription as it sold as a natural thyroid aid and makes no claims but make no mistake it is from the thyroid of cattle in newzealand and has T4 T3 T2 T1 . Dr John Lowe has sadly passed now but his wife has kept up the production . You can read many success stories from grateful patients who did not do well on thyroxine or there doctors would not prescribe T3 or NDT ( armour) . I was one who got very little help from GP s and even endos as you probably know they are adamant T3 and NDT are not needed to make you well , !!! Hope this helps jay

I know one who will prescribe privately with BUPA in Birmingham PM me if anyone wants details. He will probably try T4 with T3 first he did with me. I am out this am but will get back to messages later today.

Hi I saw Dr Bowen Jones at Clatterbridge, Wirral. He asked my GP to prescribe NDT, and GP refused. Then he asked GP to prescribe T3 (in Oct 15). Am waiting for GP's to give the go ahead but in mean time have ordered my own NDT as at least he will monitor me. X

I did have BUPA policy so I am not sure of initial costs, but soon as you start on NDT the policy is void as it is not licenced in UK. Further visits were £150 each plus the cost to get the medication from his prescription. He then told me after a few months to buy it direct form USA which I now do and GP monitors.
