Sheenah, I thought dark urine was due to dehydradation. Did you find a connection?
I would have thought y might not be drinking enough, I've read that you should drink enough fluids for your pee to be the colour of straw. Ive notched in the very odd occasion I haven't had enough to drink mine gets darker.
I once posted on this forum - that urine needs to be the colour of champagne by 3pm. Had a great reply - Well lets just drink champagne then
I would suggest drinking more water - which is always more difficult when its colder.
When I pee it is usually see through, I've never heard of hypothyroid causing dark urine. Dehydration could be that you have imbalance of minerals, not drinking enough water or ingesting dehydrating things, eg coffee, alcohol. Or you sweat a lot, are very active or spend too much time in a sauna - unlikely!
If you are drinking about 2 liters of water a day and are still getting dark urine, I would suggest a blood sugar problem/diabetes as galathea said.
It's never darkened mine.
Mine is always darker if I am ill, fighting off an infection, or dehydrated. A doctors visit to have it checked out might be a good idea.
Hepatitis too. But it could be due also to eating beetroot or if it's constantly this colour, then maybe blood in the urine.
