************crying my eyes out and flipping out as we speak!! FEELING VERY REBELLIOUS TOO**********************

youtube.com/watch?v=97EQM2I... PERFECT LITTLE SONG RIGHT NOW THE WAY I FEEL!

I dont want to spend days on end reading up on thyroid disease research!!! I have had enough!!

I am sick of the symptoms of chronic fatigue and all this bipolar rubbish with it too!

I decided to rebel against the system and take mary jane. I did well with the weed and slimming world diet. Lost 2 stone in 2 months followed by supplementation and

reduced medications 4 times within 7 month. from 90 mg to 50mg. Even when I was on a high dose, I was still experiencing chronic fatigue, exhaustion, etc.

I have developed food allergies to celery, rape seed oil, onions, garlic and a number of other foods that I soon found out were goitergenic. Despite cooking these foods for ages and ages, still my throat flames up!

Now I have no weed left and the supply is dry and I am flumping down!

Even when I was losing weight, I still had the pot belly and simply cant shift it!

Put it this way? What do I have to lose? I dont want to be part of a pill pushing industry thats going to kill us all eventually! I dont want to be part of the brain dead sheep either! I dont want to be part of the " aaww look at the poor and sick person band wagon that politicians like to use and DO F ALL TO SORT THE PROBLEM BUT KEEP IT ALL GOING!!!! I dont want to be running around doctor to doctor trying to get better - STUFF THIS NONSENSE!!!! I AM TAKING MY HEALTH INTO MY OWN HANDS!!

Planning on making rick simpson oil some time soon....All this thyroid stuff is doing my head in! I want to be cured and I don't want to continue suffering. I am sticking up my fingers up to the law and the corporate soulless sods and their associates and supporters!

Got the information I need for the oil. I am having a mental block right now with what to eat! ITS ALL FRUSTRATING AS HELL AS MOST FOODS JUST TASTE BLAND WITHOUT GARLIC ONIONS AND CELERY MAN:(

I cant take mustard and horse raddish as it kicks my glands into flames:((

Coffee and chocolate stress me out!!!

I just need one little thing - DIET! A MEAL PLAN/ MENU FOR THE WEEK THAT IS FREE FROM GOITERGENS, FREE FROM SUGAR, SOYA FREE, SEMI DAIRY FREE/DAIRY FREE ( I LOVE EGGS - CANT GO WITHOUT EGGS!), LOTS OF VEGETABLES AND FRUITS THAT HAVE NO GOITERGENS, FREE FROM ARTIFICIAL SWEETNER, HIGH PROTEIN ( WILLING TO TRY GOING MEAT FREE EXCEPT FROM FISH - I LOVE FISH AND SEAFOOD SO NOT GIVING THAT UP! I AM CONSIDERING GIVING UP MEAT BECAUSE OF ALL THE CRAP ANTI BIOTICS AND OTHER HORMONE CRAP IN OUR MEAT UNLESS SOMEONE CAN RECOMMEND WHICH MEATS I CAN GET FROM SHOPS OR BUTCHERS OR FARMS IN CENTRAL SCOTLAND THAT ARE FREE FROM ANTI BIOTICS AND CRAP IN THEIR MEAT OR ANY WAY I CAN REMOVE THE ANTI BIOTIC CRAP IN OUR MEAT!) A DIET SUITABLE FOR THOSE ON JOBSEEKERS INCOMES/STUDENT INCOMES - I AM A STUDENT ON A LOW INCOME AND NEED TO EAT 6 MEALS A DAY SMALL BUT REGULAR TO KEEP MY ENERGY LEVELS UP! I NORMALLY SHOP AT REDUCTION ISLES AND WOULD LOVE SOME SIMPLE HEALTHY MEAL IDEAS AND SOME IDEAS FOR SAUCES TOO THAT ARE NOT BLAND AND ARE SATISFYING TOO! I AM SICK OF THIS CRAZY CHAOTIC LIFESTYLE I AM EXPERIENCING AS I AM UNABLE TO CONCENTRATE AT UNIVERSITY, I AM WASTING MONEY ON TUITION FEES, IM SKIMMING MY WAY THROUGH FIRST YEAR I HAVE EXAMS IN THE SUMMER TO PREPARE FOR! I REALLY DONT WANT TO BE RUNNING AROUND LIKE A HEADLESS CHICKEN AND PULLING MY HAIR OUT TOO! I DO KNOW AND FEEL IT IN MY GUTS THAT I CAN CURE THIS ILLNESS VERY WELL!

I AM SCARYING MY FRIENDS AWAY AND CANT EVEN HAVE A DECENT BOYFRIEND BECAUSE I AM WORN OUT AND EXHAUSTED AND ALL THE HORRIBLE AUTOIMMUNE THYROID DISEASE SYMPTOMS YOU CAN THINK OF!

I WILL UPLOAD RESULTS VERY SOON - I AM GETTING BLOODS DONE ON WEDNESDAY!

RIGHT NOW NOT INTERESTED IN LABS AND ALL THAT NONSENSE! I JUST WANT TO START FEELING WELL!

SO FOOD THATS ARE GOING TO SUPPORT MY ADRENALS, THYROID,BALANCE CORTISOL, BRING UP MY ENERGY - WILLING TO TRY A MIX OF VEGAN AND PESCETARIAN ( however you spell it - basically fish and vegetable based diet)

if you can all help me with that - great - i dont want to read - eat plenty of fish vegetables - well what exactly do I eat? I am having a mental block and dont want to spend lots of money on food either - I want things to be in order say breakfast lunch dinner snack supper. some nice meal menu ideas! I want a list of foods that have no goitergens because all the information is confusing me and I dont want to read it at all!

If you can help me with that, I make my oil and I start seeing a difference and be cured from it, I will donate a lot of money to Thyroid UK. Especially after I graduate from University once I start feeling and getting better

I want to try doing without milk and animal dairy cheese for a while to see if the chronic fatigue goes away!

any recommendation of herbal teas that support adrenals.

Dont want to spend stupid amounts of money on Gahahahahahaga or whatever food product that costs 20 plus pounds from holland and barrat or where ever!

Nice and cheap and nice and easy too!

Eat more fat and oil. Get creative with the foods that you put it in. The only fats and oils I use are :

Beef dripping and coconut oil for hot cooking. I also approve of lard (theoretically) but I don't like it.

Butter for things like toast, but also for brief hot cooking e.g. omelettes.

Olive oil for salads or recipes that don't require cooking.

I completely avoid low-fat spreads, margarine, vegetable oil, sunflower oil.

I started adding an extremely generous teaspoon of butter or coconut oil (I alternate) to my morning coffee. Let it melt, give it a good stir and drink it.

I notice that you don't like coffee, but there must be some hot food you eat that you could lather butter on or cook with generous amounts of fats. Perhaps there is a hot drink you could add butter to.

I find it has improved my energy levels, reduced my brain fog and I've lost weight. I made this change last year. Also last year I went gluten-free. I also started taking T3 only, and I currently take 43.75mcg per day. It varies from 1¾ tablets per day up to 2¼ per day. In the time I made these changes (all during 2015) I've lost a stone (14 lbs). I haven't been trying, I don't deprive myself, but I've still lost weight. The only thing I tried to do was cut down on my sugar intake, and I totally failed at that!

There's a shop in my local shopping centre which sells perfectly good coconut oil at budget prices. It isn't a chain, it's just a single independent shop. If they have run out I buy from supermarkets.

whineandiodinewithme, this is a thyroid forum which is why information and posts are about thyroid. Hypothyroidism usually requires lifelong replacement so if you want to control your own health you need to start understanding your labs or you'll have to take your doctor's word for it when you're told your labs are normal because you won't know whether they're good or low in range or optimal.

Food intolerances and allergies are commonly developed by hypothyroid patients but they aren't necessarily permanent and you may be able to eat them again in the future without adverse effects. In the meantime you'll need to do some research and experimentation to find ingredients to replace the flavours you're missing.

If you want to know where to buy organic pasture fed ethically raised meat, non fish-farmed fish, and organic veg and fruit at affordable prices you'll have to do your own research. Ditto interesting menus and diet plans. Try Google.

WADWM,

I am sorry you feel so bad.

The thyroid gland controls our basal metabolic rate (number of calories burned). Mismanaged meds, nutrient deficiencies, acute dieting or lack of fats, proteins or carbs can all decrease T3 levels, lowering metabolism and encouraging weight gain. Hormones, neurotransmitters have a huge influence as does stress, insulin & leptin resistance, bad gut health (candida, H. pylori, etc.), food intolerences, low stomach acid and many more factors.

You may find it helpful to do a weekly menu plan and cook large amounts that would last for two or more dinners giving you more study time. Cooking from scratch will avoid horrid preservatives and gut irritants found in processed foods. Finding a dinner buddy may help, cooking for each other so many days a week.

It can be hard accepting our medical conditions sometimes but hypothyroidism is with you for life and having a basic understanding of your condition, your meds and the function of the thyroid gland you will enable you to better manage your health.

Scientific studies have found that cannabis may reduce inflammatory responses in some people but in people with autoimmune disorders too much may suppress the immune system.

With weight gain, anxiety and tearfulness, you sound under medicated.

Post thyroid test results complete with ranges ( numbers in brackets) for members to comment.

I hope you feel better soon and good luck with your uni studies,

The Paleo diet is great for hypothyroid people, and also if you have the mental strength a TFR diet works wonders for thyroid people xx Hope this helps xx

Hi, I've looked on your Profile and you give no thyroid history. i.e. if/when diagnosed, what hormones and dose?. It makes it easier to have an idea. Blood test(s) with ranges.

:)

Here are some ideas, mostly easy and cheap. I am gluten free and vegan and avoid all the other things you mentioned and have done for over 10 years.

We eat things like peanut butter with bananas for snacks, peanut better lasts a long time so I think it's good value. Jacket potatoes with sesame salt (very easy, toast sesame seeds then grind and mix with a little salt), I bake sweet potatoes and squash then when cooked so its easy peel them and make them into soup, varying the flavour by adding say fried onions and ginger and of course and any other seasonal vegetables. You'll have plenty of ideas of your own for adding flavour, especially if you like herbs and spices (I don't). We chunk potatoes, parsnips, swedes, carrots and any other root veggies, then roast them usually in coconut oil (no faffing around turning them, they just have to look after themselves) then I add nice stock and either eat this as a casserole or blend into a soup. I add either pulses for protein or a dessertspoon of miso (added after serving to avoid destroying nutrients by boiling the miso).

I have nuts and seeds in orange juice for breakfast.

Salad with a nice dressing for lunch including raw carrot with soya flour cheese (if you're happy with soya flour). We also make a dressing with miso, tahini (great for calcium as well as protein) and water that makes a tasty dip.

Loads of fruit, any time of day, I like apples with soya flour cheese.

There's a coconut yogurt you might like, too sweet for my taste buds though no sweetener added.

Something I had recently that was delicious was a Spanish omelette made with a gram flour in place of eggs, recipe came off the 'net.

I don't think you mentioned avoiding fluoride, I avoid it and chlorine, chlorine badly upsets my thyroid, or something that produces the same symptoms.

I hope this is some help.

Soya flour cheese - whatever that is - is not going to do you any good if the soy is unfermented. It's an absolute no-no for hypos. :)

You can't know what to eat, until you have a food sensitivities testing done. Hashio's sufferers have intestinal permeability and their immune system react to food.

thats odd..oh well, never hurts to try.

How do they do that? I mean become hidden? Saw this before, don't understand the purpose?

Exactly what I said:

The original poster has left - which is why they appear as "Hidden".

If you were to positively leave HU, any posts/responses you left would be attributed to Hidden. (However, if you simply don't login or use the site again, your identity would remain as it is.)

Purpose? I don't think there is a purpose. It is simply what happens.

in reply tohelvella

I though they clicked some button in order to become hidden. Still don't understand where is the point of writing such a long question and leaving afterwards.

People do it all the time.

In this case, I suspect that she might have been upset by one or more responses, but that is just a guess. That is not to blame any of the responders, a lot of effort was made by a number of people, all with good intent.
