Thanks everyone for their support and advice but still at times not doing so well. Having found this forum I now know I have Hashimotos and I am in the stage where I'm suffering from attacks. Following this forums advice I upped my meds ( I'm on levothyroxine was 100 to 125) to 150 mg. felt more normal although the tinnitus in my ears is still just as bad, no weight loss and my hair seems to be very thin. I take vitamins and also try to be gluten free. I have ordered t3 to see if a mixture might help with the tinnitus. My last bloods are not so bad, best I've had for some time (see previous post) and doctor says I'm not bad enough to refer.

My question is there anything I can do when I have a Hashimoto attack? My main problem is occasions of sleeplessness ! I haven't slept now for 2 nights and last night was the worse with no sleep at all. I feel slightly wired and not relaxed enough to fall asleep, the tinnutus doesn't help either. I have tried Kalms but I notice other people have been given magnesium citrate ? or Epsom salt baths?

Very frustrated as I had gone several weeks feeling fine.

Any suggestions most welcome.

Louisesymons, the best thing to try is 100% gluten-free but it may take 3-6 months to feel any benefit. If you're not cutting out gluten 100% you won't experience any benefits.

You can buy magnesium citrate and magnesium oil spray online if they aren't available in local health food shops and taking Epsom salt baths before bed is supposed to relax which may help with sleeplessness.
