Thanks a lot gg for sharing that. I was taking calcium supps until about s week ago when I saw on this forum about the dangers of it and stopped! Oh such a lot of researchers on this forum who thankfully share there findings.

Like so many of us on this site we thank God we found it. A life and death sometimes.

Thank you all. And a happy Christmas.

Thank you for that link GG. I notice though that it's calcium carbonate that they say is harmful. I take sea calcium derived from algae for my osteoporosis, plus plenty of magnesium bisglycinate (oxide is pretty useless), boron, and other co-factors such as Vit D3 and K2 as MK7 to make sure that the calcium goes into the bones and not the arteries and muscles. I also eat a healthy organic (as far as poss) diet containing food sources of these items. It would be nice though to think I could stop taking the calcium supplements twice daily - I might then be able to split my NutriThyroid into 2-3 doses, which might be more effective. Might look into this further.

Might be more effective. But then again, it might not. A lot of people find they're better off taking it all in one go at night.

Yes, he's talking anbout calcium carbonate, the cheap stuff that doctors usually prescribe because it's cheap.

Magnesium oxide is utterly useless, the body can't absorb it.

Do they test your calcium regularly? If you've been taking it for a while, you might not need it anymore. You Don't want too much.

T3 is also necessary for bones. How is yours?

Hi GreyGoose,

Thanks for that info. I didn't know I should get my calcium checked regularly - I'll ask for that after Christmas. My T3 was quite high when checked in February, before I consulted Dr P and changed from levo to NutriThyroid.

Well, that's one good thing, anyway!

You Don't want too much calcium, for lots of reasons. And if you've been supplementing for a long time, you could have gone over the limit.

Thanks again for advice. I remembered after replying yesterday that I had a full blood count and checks that included calcium earlier this year and calcium was in range.

Best wishes for Christmas and the New Year.
