Hi everyone, I have an appointment with Dr.Chapman in January, I am flying down from Glasgow to London. Is it worth it? I've been on 100mcg of Levothyroxine for 5 years. is there anyone on here who goes to him, how thorough is he, what does he check for? also, can you get the necessary blood tests done by your own GP? I'm a student and could never afford to get them all done privately. Thanks!
Feedback via private messages please, in accordance with posting guideline #25, thank you.
Bremner92, Ideally TSH, FT4, FT3, thyroid peroxidase antibodies and thyroglobulin antibodies will be tested. If your GP won't do them you can order private tests from Blue Horizon and Genova via thyroiduk.org.uk/tuk/testin... Blue Horizon's Comprehensive 10 panel is £89 after using TUK10 discount and also includes some mineral and vitamin testing.

I've seen him twice - once in person and one phone consultation. i can tell you that he took blood and sent it to Genova Diagnostics for all thyroid tests including reverse T3 and antibodies. I was also sent home with a 24 hr urine test for T4 and T3 which tests the levels at cellular level and a saliva 24 hr test for adrenals. These were at first appointment. The phone consultation was last Friday and was the follow up with results etc. Including the consultation (it's gone up in price since) it cost me £610.
I'm pm you with more details as I think my comments may not be allowed.
