Well still not feeling good. These last few days been soo tired and achey haven't got anything done. My shoulders and neck area is the worst and keeps me up at nights tossing and turning. It doesn't help being post menopausal! Even though had thyroid bloods check at beginning of year were within normal range I feel are still a bit high 3.6 (0.5-5.0). Been on 75mg levothyroxine for 2 yrs now. Think will get an appointment to get them done again. Any ideas would be appreciated. Going on holiday in 4 weeks and way I feel just now don't know how I'm going to manage being tired all the time! Had my fibromyalgia under control for this las t 18 months so can't understand what's going on and haven't changed anything!!

When you state 3.6 (0.5-5.0 I am assuming you're referring to the TSH, if so it is far too high and should be around 1 or below and some even feel better when it's surpressed. That's the GPs biggest mistake in thinking anywhere in the ref. range is fine. It might be o.k. if someone's not been diagnosed as hypo but if hypo we need a low TSH to relieve symptoms.

Just a reminder if you have another blood test. It should be as early as possible and fast (you can drink water). Leave about 24 hours between your last dose of hormones and take after test. Also ask for B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate if it's been a while since you've had them tested.

...and push for the FT3 and thyroid anti-bodies if they have not been tested. Low T3 is often one of the culprits of all over body pains like fibro. VitD is anti-inflammatory and also needed in ALL the cells - just like T3. So if both are low then there is not enough to go around and do its valuable work. When low things begin to go wrong. Could you have the tests done privately if your GP will not oblige.....

Thanks Marz yes I can easily pay to get them done privately if he won't do it. Just have to wait and see hopefully he will do them all!
