NDT ,

I am on NDT was doing ok lately but need to raise it but the T3 is a bit high in it as I feel I just need a bit more T4 .How does anyone do this as my consultant wants to try Levothyroxine and 10mg off T3 in tablet form ,can't remember name of it to see if this works .Has anyone else tried this or any advice .I thanks

Maggiemay, can you tell us what dose of desiccated thyroid you are currently taking and also post your latest thyroid test results so that we can see what your FT4 and FT3 levels are like? This would help people to offer suggestions.

Quite a few people find the T4/T3 ratio of desiccated is not quite right for them, so they add a small dose of T4 as well. Often 25mcg of T4 along with your desiccated gives a better balance.

I am on 1 1/2 grains for two days and third day take 1 3/4 in divided dose ,bloods were tsh 0.02. T4 12.4 ,T3 5.3 .

HI You can have NDT and levo but T4 is often low on NDT but if FT3 is good it is OK. Providing you feel OK.
