Irish-Colleen, BlueHorizon will send you the kit you need. If you need a phlebotomist you can ask whether your GP surgery or local hospital phlebotomy dept will do private blood draws for a fee. Otherwise order one of the home test finger prick tests.

Irish-Coleen, homebloodtests.co.uk/ I think you should be able to get a £10 discount using the code TUK10.

First of all irish-coleen, get a print-out of your blood test resuts with the ranges and post them on a new question if you don't have them today and members will look them over and give you advice.

You can do postal pin-prick tests with Blue Horizon but I'll give you the list and you can phone the other labs if you want to enquire.

You will realise that doctors appear to be the least likely person to be knowledgeable about blood tests but especially are ignorant of the clinical symptoms we can have if not optimally dosed.

Did you have your blood test as early as possible and fast and leave approx 24 hours from your last dose of levo. You should also have had your Vitamin B12, Vit D, iron, ferritin and folate tested as we are usually deficient.

If you've not had them tested I would make an appointment as you don't want to waste your money unnecessarily.

We do have to learn as you are doing to get knowledge about how best to make ourselves well. We can get well but it does take a while to find the correct dose/thyroid hormones.

Hi shaws, thankyou,i dont have any results as ive always been afraid to ask my gp for them I just know that when i was first diagnosed my tsh was over 30.I know from looking quickly while she had the results on her computer screen that they are still high

I was low on iron and was treated for 1 month but ive been told all my other tests are fine.

Im having lots of palpations among other things and funny heart beats.

When i looked at blue horizion its offering 2 options for the thyroid test but then with a drop down box about places to have blood drawn but none seems to be in northern ireland

You can also have 'pin-prick tests by Blue Horizon. Some labs also draw blood but you can phone and ask.

Don't be afraid to ask your surgery for copies of your blood test results. Just say you want to keep copies now for your own records. They cannot refuse but may ask a nominal sum for copies.

I never thought of asking for copies of blood tests before I was hypo either but I get one each time. Some of the way doctors interpret the thyroid blood tests are not always best for us in order to get better.

Hi If you use finger prick test with Blue Horizon that is good. be sure to have TSH,. T4 and Free T3. If FT3 low you may need less T4 an d a little T3 to feel well.
