I have two nodules on my left lobe that were biopsied and came back as Thy 2. My question is how often should they be scanned?

Teddy, probably annually, nodules are quite slow growing usually. I don't know for sure.

probably once a year unless they are growing when it will probably be ever 5 or 6 months. I have two which are growing slowing and I have scans every five months. they keep telling me if they keep growing I will have to have surgery to remove them as fine needle biopsies have not been successful. however, they are still growing and no surgery in sight - not that I want surgery as this will just remove more of my thyroid and more weight will be gained.

Excuse my ignorance , what is Thy 2?

Orangelady, it means the FNA result is benign.

I think that the question that needs to be asked is how often to have the nodules checked by doing a biopsy. I have quite a few that the ultrasound can only tell you their size but nothing more. What did your specialist say?
