Can you see it twitching in a mirror? Is it like a bubbles type feeling? If so, it's probably a muscle twitch, most likely cos you're tired.

It seems to be around the middle can see it moving been bout 10 mins so far it's like my heart is beating in front of my neck. Noticed it before just not as long x

I get something similar, I keep getting a pulsing sound in my right ear which seems to be in time with my heart beat. I've had it on and off for about a week.

Razzar, It'll be due to that pesky thyroid and your metabolism ramping up now you're getting hormone. healthline.com/symptom/boun... These articles always mention hyperthyroidism in connection with palpitations but they are very much a hypothyroid thing too.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toClutter

Awww was hoping it was just something random. Stupid thyroid never felt it there before palps I mean. X

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply toRazzar1977

Razzar, you'll likely have a few strange events and sensations as your metabolism is being kick started. It makes you hyper aware of your body and reactions. It'll settle down when your body realises it doesn't have to have a party every time you feed it a little T3 or are a bit late :)

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toClutter

Cool I guess I was a bit worried as endo made it sound as if something dire would happen if I didn't take it on the dot x

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply toRazzar1977

Razzar, until it's built up in your system you will notice it when a dose is due or late. Once you're swimming in it you probably won't notice if you skip a dose let alone take it late.

The only thing that concerns me at night I get real bad chest pains but I had this before t3 med's were started . It also wakes me up x

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply toRazzar1977

Probably low thyroid. Have you had ECGs or chest x-ray?

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toClutter

Had 48hr monitor that showed I got extra heartbeat here or there ..ecg comes back normal and I just had 2 week event monitor don't know results. Had contrast ct which showed no clogging but showed a nodule on my right lung. I'm fed up with it I gave up smoking as had chest pains they just feel worse thought it would get better. X

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply toRazzar1977

Razzar, I have a prolonged QT interval which makes it feel like a beat is missed, and slightly over expanded lungs which probably is due to smoking.

How long have you quit?

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toClutter

Will be 2 years January x

Clutter profile image
Clutter in reply toRazzar1977

I felt very rough for 3 months but started feeling very well after.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toClutter

See the nodule on my lung they said they monitor for 3 months then said not changed in size. And said won't follow it up. I think they should have at least given it another 3 months x

Is that when HypoT symptoms appeared?

(lost of folk report this...)

Sorry what are they ?

Spareribs profile image
Spareribs in reply toRazzar1977

Apologies - when replies get this small it's confusing - I was responding to the fact that you've given up smoking (well done!)

and the fact that OFTEN HypoT then appears....

there's loads of posts about this - a lot of us were smokers too :D

Razzar1977 in reply toSpareribs

No wish I did I'm only averaging 1/2 I will be awake until 6ish like this all the time body tired but my heads not. I love sleep just not able to get it x

Spareribs profile image
Spareribs in reply toRazzar1977

You need to sleep - a body needs to repair, don't fight it, give in.

I need sleep as I'm older than my 54 years - I will try & crawl upstairs now.

My son has 4 jobs - mechanic, fireman, farmhand & taxi, he doesn't sleep much either, nite nite. xx

I only just got this msg as I did fall asleep even though it was only for a couple of hours as got poorly belly sleep tight xx

Have you taken your T3?

I got the jitters (high HR) telling me "take a pill" eased afterwards

It would be interesting to gauge what others feel before pill due.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toSpareribs

Yeah I did but saying that I was late as I was sorting kids out I usually good with it . Was just over a hour late. X

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toSpareribs

True I don't usually forget got very nauseous had to sit down but that bit didn't last long. Never noticed it before starting t3 med's. Weird wasn't overly concerned but I just felt weird. So do u think it could also be I took it late or as clutter said the hormone ramping things up x

gabkad profile image
gabkad in reply toRazzar1977

Razzar, when I started T3 it was a bit of a jolt. Then after a while it was nothing.

Not on it anymore, not because of adverse sensations. Just I think I only needed upramping of T4. Everyone's different.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply togabkad

Ty unfortunately I'm not absorbing or converting my T4 so was taken off it :(

gabkad profile image
gabkad in reply toRazzar1977

It takes a number of days (but I was on combo therapy) to feel 'leveled out'. If you have gone off the T4, which has a half life of about 7 to 14 days depending on the person, then you are 'in transition'. Even though you weren't converting T4 according to blood tests, I don't believe it's 100% true when it comes to heart and kidneys etc. My fT3 is not fabulous but I feel fine. So there's more going on.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply togabkad

I suffer with my kidneys too for five yrs I'm on pain killers for . It's like I told doc I can drink gallons and still have no urge to pee 1 a day and she said nothing. Loads kidney stones and my left kidney showing signs of calcification x

gabkad profile image
gabkad in reply toRazzar1977

There are usually reasons why people don't convert. But kidneys really need thyroid hormone, so maybe current meds will help.

Parbrook profile image
Parbrook in reply toRazzar1977

If you have a kidney problem, then your pulsating neck and chest ache could be due to fliud retention.

I think that it is the carotid Artery in the neck where Nephrologists look for an indication of fluid overload.

With fliud overload, fliud can accumulate around the heart and lining of the lungs, which causes some pain, especually when breathing-in and it is usually worse when lying-down.

You could try restricting your fluid intake to around 1.2 - 1.5 litres per-day for a few weeks to see if it makes any difference.

Essentially, you need to pass-out more fluid than you are taking-in.

I found it a real challenge to cut-back to 1.2 litres earlier this year and dealt with the constant thirst by sucking blackcurrent lozenges and ice lollies.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toParbrook

Ohh right so It a danger lm not going to just peg it lol ?? As for reducing the fluid that's a good idea is there anything else I can do to aid getting rid of this extra fluid as I have asked the doc in past and won't prescribe anything. Do u think there's anything natural ?? X

Parbrook profile image
Parbrook in reply toRazzar1977

Assuming that you actually have fliud overload, then a renal specialist would most likely prescribe something like Furosemide.

WIthout this, you could try searching for natural diuretics, but look-out for side-effects:

google.co.uk/search?q=natru...

If you can establish that you do actually have fliud overload, I suggest that you ask you GP for a referral to a Renal Clinic, so that it can be managed by the specialists.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toParbrook

Ty will look into it I'm under urologist guess trip back to doc to see if she can get me refer back properly for appointment x

Parbrook profile image
Parbrook in reply toRazzar1977

A nephrologist is who you need for possible kidney problems.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toParbrook

Oh right never heard of a nephrologist before sorry

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply toParbrook

I thought it was a urologist that did a op on my kidney to try and remove s stone. ..looking a bit silly I am lol

bantam12 profile image
bantam12 in reply toRazzar1977

A nephrologist deals with kidney diseases, a urologist deals with urinary tract which includes some kidney problems like stones.

Razzar1977 profile image
Razzar1977 in reply tobantam12

Oh ok I looked it up but thanks

Parbrook profile image
Parbrook in reply toRazzar1977

I think that the first thing to establish is whether you actually have fliud retention.

If yes, then you need to establish if is it caused by a blockage due to stones (in which case your Urologist 'should' pick-up on this), or something else with your kidney (in which case a Nephrologist is probably more appropriate).

Personally, I think that a Nephrologist will be more knowledgeable about the effects of restricted kidney function.

To Mazzar1977 Eat bananas.. they contain potassium which will help urination or peeing

Note if your body is a bit swollen.. legs especially.. It'll also make you feel a bit dizzi-ish. Eating a banana works great for me... no need for pills Hope this helps you.... Check you later
