Where in the ranges should the Vits D and B12 and ferritin and folates be? I know mine are not right but as they are in normal range I got no help from the Endo.

Also, where in the range would be a good unmedicated T3 reading please? (I mean only on Levo not medicated with T3).

Daizeefoo, vitD replete range is 75-200, around 100 is good for most. B12 is optimal top of range, PA Soc say 1,000 is optimal. Ferritin and folate around half way through range. FT3 halfway through to top third of range. FT4 would have to be top/over range to get FT3 into the top third usually.

Ok thank you Clutter. I posted a reply in my other thread after visiting the Endo yesterday.

My fT4 is just above range but fT3 not up much, around mid range. Obviously TSH up from 0.6 to 1.55.

Ferritin is definitely low at 43. Folates may be Ok. Endo took my printout yesterday so will get another when I go for yet another blood test on 18th.

She told me I am over medicated and extreme tiredness occurs if you are on too much thyroxine. What do you think?

Daizee, I agree. Some people are better off with FT4 around 18 rather than top of range. I had FT4 >30 for months and felt terrible and I've had FT3 over range for months and felt fine.

I think it would be worth trying 25mcg reduction.

She is concerned my TSH has risen. Surely if I reduce my Levo my TSH will rise further giving me further issues?

She doesn't was to reduce til the results of the second blood test are known. She seems to be testing the pituitary gland.

The October readings were good for me. Lost weight, less leg pain, almost no symptoms.

To be honest it's deeply depressing me as I thought I had struck the nail on the head at 200mg.

Daizeefoo, yes TSH is likely to rise when dose is reduced. A little T3 added to the reduced T4 should keep TSH low, drop FT4 and raise FT3. May be worth discussing with endo.

Sorry I have not replied but I had a busy weekend.

I got a letter from the Endo on Saturday morning. It is a copy if one she has sent to the doc. First time anyone has done this.

In it she only says everything is in normal levels and is fine however "the patient" believes the Levo should be raised but we will do nothing til the results of the next blood test are in. I go for those next Friday.

I never asked for a raise in Levo and feel rather upset at this. I am going to write a polite letter to her and a copy to the doc explaining that due to high fT4 and a raised TSH that I was concerned why it had happened but never asked for a raise in Levo.

I'm actually quite angry and feel misrepresented to my doctor. She must think I am stupid. 😕
