I posted before about my ferritin level being low end of normal and doctors not helping. I went again yesterday as my hair is still falling out. My ferritin level is 29 (15-150 range) I'm not sure of my iron level
But she said it is perfectly normal along with hemaglobin. I said well can the low ferritin be causing my hair loss she said no because my iron level is fine! Can anyone shed some light. How can I get my ferritin level up if my iron level is good? I'm so confused and just want answers

Laralou, Members often experience hair loss when ferritin is <70-90 and supplement iron with vitamin C to aid absorption and minimise constipation.
If your GP thinks ferritin 29 is fine, your iron may be low in range too. Ask the GP receptionist or practice manager for a printout of your iron and haemoglobin results and ranges (figures in brackets after results) and post them in a new question and members will advise.
