I am confused as to what to order. After reading posts on the different names for t3, Cynomel, tyromel, liothyronine and various places to buy it. Still on 125 thyroxine and tried to get it through a main UK chemist but still waiting.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

If you are in the UK your doctor could add some T3 (liothyronine) to your levothyroxine.

Liothyronine is the actual 'thyroid hormone' - the active one - which we need in all of our receptor cells.

The other names you mention are brand names of liothyronine (T3) made by other companies.

You can only get it through any UK pharmacist but it has to be prescribed by the doctor or Endo - you cannot get it over-the-counter.

Hi

No I am not in the UK so no UK doctor. Cannot get it where I am but wondered where was best to get it from. I have hashimotos and cannot convert t4 to t3.

Need the most reliable source to get it from.

Thanks

Msh5, Liothyronine UK T3 is prescription only and available from high street pharmacies. They may need a few days to order it in.

Tiromel, Cytomel and Cynomel are different brands of T3, available without prescription online. Tiromel is inexpensive and Cytomel very expensive ($258 for 100 x 25mcg last time I looked). Mexican Cynomel has been unavailable for almost a year and may become available again in November.

I think it might be best if you now put up a new post asking for information to be sent to you by Private Message for the T3 you might be interested in.

It would go against the guidelines to post any information for prescription medications on the forum.
