T3: My t3 is 3.1 and was told no action need but... - Thyroid UK
T3
Sorry, but we need more information than that to be able to say anything constructive.
Do you have the range for that?
Do you have FT4 and TSH readings?
Have you been tested for antibodies?
And, surely a lot of other things, too. But answers to the above would help.
Hi yes I have underative thyroid on 125 levothyroxine my latest blood test came back as thyroid stimulating hormone 1.67 free tyroxine 199.99 total thyroxine t4 139.7 free t3 3.31 and thyroglobulin antibody 134.000 thyroid peroxidase antibodies 29.54 I have been diagnosed with underative thyroid for 15 years feel unwell even though on thyroxine and currently have a second frozen shoulder so not to good at min. New to this site so please bear with me thanks
That FT4 is incredibly high. Are you sure that's right? Anyway, we still need the ranges - the numbers in brackets after the results.
It would look something like this :
FT4 15 (12-22)
It just says total throxine(t4) 139.7
It's not the Total thyroxine we're interested in. It's the Free thyroxine. You put 'free tyroxine 199.99'. Well, that's a very weird level. The range is normally 12 - 22. So, if yours is 199.99, it would be extremely over-medicated. Where did you get those results? From the doctor?
Sorry free thyroxine 19.99
Ahhhhhh ok! lol That makes more sense. So, that is quite high, it would seem.
I really shouldn't say anything without seeing the ranges, but it would seem to me that you have a conversion problem, there. But, doctors know nothing about conversion. But, next time you see him, suggest it to him, see what he says.
Tsh is 1.67. t4 is 139.7
