Prescription need for T3

Hi all!

I live in the states but a family member is traveling to London next week and I'm desperate for T3. Is a prescription needed there in the UK for T3?? (Cymtomel -my name for it here in the U.S.) thanks so much!

T3 is prescription only in the UK. If your relative is in the UK longer than 4 weeks there would probably be time for an online order (without prescription) of Cytomel or other brand of T3 to be delivered.

UK T3 is called liothyronine.

Hi, Jess. I am in the states also. Why do you think you need T3? Were you previously prescribed it? Have you had blood tests by your doc to confirm that you are hypo? T 3 isn't that hard to come by in the states if your have been diagnosed as hypo. Most doctors are especially glad to rx synthetic T4 and T3 meds rather than the NDT.
