buckthorn

I have been reading a lot about the benefits of sea buckthorn. As I understand it is a seaweed and therefor probably contains iodine. I am hypoT and on levo. Was wondering if it is safe to take buckthorn oil capsules?

Buckthorn is actually healthy berry. It contains a lot of vitamins, especially vitamin C if it is from Asia.

Buckthorn oil capsules contains a lot omega 7 which is good for dry eyes and skin for example.

It does not contain iodine.

Altogether it good to buy as capsules or berry powder. It is one my favorite berries and always have some in my freezer to eat them every day.

Hi,

I've just bought some capsules as this is meant to be very helpful for dry eyes. I must have tried every type of eye drops, gel etc going and none have worked either very well or given prolonged relief . The eye condition drives me nuts so living in hope these improve things x

I bought some yesterday. Haven't started taking them yet. They are very expensive - I bought mine in a health food shop but they're not much cheaper on Amazon or on any of the online sources - hopefully they will have the desired effect although the online reviews are pretty mixed.

I paid £10.99 on ebay with free postage & they arrived within a couple of days, also a decent 'known' brand & should last a month. My health food shop were much more expensive x

Think I paid £17 something for them. The assistant produced the largest size and when I looked at the shelf it was over £34 - I'm quite prepared to stump up for various things to help my thyroid and blood tests etc but I baulked at that. Think this box has 60 in it so hopefully that will be a decent trial then if it makes a fantastic difference I'll buy them.

Yes the price makes me hesitate, don't mind paying a lot for something that works, I've got a collection of useless supplements that I thought was THE answer!

Same here - I try to persuade my other half that they will do wonders for him 😉

Agree, especially about the cost. I seem to spend a lot on remedies that don't work! If you do take let me know how it goes . Most reports say they have to be taken foe 3/4 weeks to effect. Good luck!

It's planted by a lot of Councils, at least round here it is, so you can pick the berries yourself. Very squishy though! has a slightly bitter after taste, but OK.

Don't think it is planted around Wrexham (N. Wales). Love the idea of picking your own
