Stormx, could be sensitivity to a new product you're using on your face or wind/sun exposure.

Hi Clutter

I am not using a new facial wash, I have had this problem before, its stings when I was it with water, my skin look as though its been lightly burned.

Stormx, It sounds as if you have a sensitivity to something. What brought it on before and what did you do to resolve it? Have you changed your shampoo or the detergent you wash your towels and bedding in?

nothing brought it on before, I was using water and I was still suffering with the problem. its something to do with my hormones I am taking T3 but I don't feel as though the path at the moment going smooth, because my body feels like its regressing :(

I had this issue years ago, 2011 it was really bad, but general my skin plays up it hasn't been the same for years. it always looks slightly burnt

Stormx, Could you be overmedicated? That can cause flushing. Perhaps you should have a FT3 test.

I have occasional flushing/itching/stinging on my face/neck. Very uncomfortable! I always figure it is due to thyroid (I have Hashimoto's) or to thyroid meds (Levothyroxine & T3) but I never know exactly which and what exactly! It comes & goes (even as my meds stay the same). Sometimes it's awful, but since I've gotten the meds mostly on track and I'm feeling mostly okay, it hasn't been bad (though I have had it a bit for the last few days). I see Clutter says overmedicating could cause flushing - my T3 level is definitely not more than low-normal (it improved to low-normal from below normal when T3 med was added), but my TSH, which was low-normal when last tested, has been below normal in the past (so lowered Levo a little & added T3).

No I don't think its over medicating it has always happened when I am not on any meds, before I ever took thyroid meds it was really bad, it consistently stung, I started then to only use water and the problem still persisted.

I also have this issue on my elbow and knee caps.
