"Anyone else experienced anything like this?"
In a word, yes.
Have you had your thyroid tested yet? Have you been diagnosed with hypothyroidism?
There are so many possible symptoms that without seeing blood test results it's impossible to know what might be going on.
If in the UK you can get a copy of your results from the surgery, just ask at reception. Post them on here, with the reference ranges. The range is after the result, either in brackets or with a little "R" next to it.
Some of the most common hypothyroid symptoms are:
Lethargy and tiredness, swelling, especially eyelids and feet, difficulty concentrating, joint and muscle pains, stomach problems, constipation, feeling cold, slow heartbeat, palpitations.... And so on.
Post results here, in a new thread and someone should be able to help
Yes, prior to diagnosis. It resolved once Levothyroxine commenced
I had my thyroid taken out and calcium gland. Doctor said I will lose lots of weight. How wrong that was. Put on weight cannot shed how I try. Many a day from puffy face to feet.. So have to have 2 sets of clothing every day and those days when I'm a puff ball. If I can stop that puffing body it will be magical.
Are you on thyroid replacement yet? How much?
"Calcium gland"? Do you mean parathyroid glands? They are separate glands that help regulate calcium in the blood, but they are attached to the thyroid. Surgeons have to be very careful not to damage them when they remove the thyroid. It seems strange if they were deliberately removed.
That swelling doesn't seem right. Have you seen the doctor about it?
They did remove my calcuim gland. Then told me must eat lots of calcuim food if I don't I will go into coma and that will be the end
I was for years on 150 g now the doctors reduced it to 125g . I'm lactose free so the tablet are full of lactose. From birth I had that problem with lactose. There is a tablet with no lactose. the hospital wrote to my doctor still waiting
Hi. I find my whole face is puffy in the mornings. It calms down after a while it's odd though.
Yes, my puffiness and bloating tends to subside when I stop eating gluten. In the past the AIP diet helped me a lot to reduce this symptom.
High estrogen, to low progesterone ?
My username says it all! It was definitely the first thing I noticed. Interesting if gluten helps. I was gluten free for a couple of years...but started it a bit over the summer and haven’t really stopped again. Have been feeling rubbish!
I'm sad to hear that. I have same trouble. Medicine do not know much. They see trees no forest. symptom of lack of iodine or low thyroid hormones, there is 500 symptoms for thyroid troubles. Find yours.
Thyroid eye disease. No real cure. No specific one.
Generally all that which is good for thyroid troubles. Diet, low carbohydrates, low GI, no gluten, no flour, powder food, nothing sweet even natural or chemical, no sugars , no goitrogen food and chemicals. For hyper levels of thyroid hormones it is different diet. No milk, only 200 ml of fermented daily, no percsevatives, no taste, colour ... aditives ...
Oh no, I'm sorry to hear that. I hope you're doing well.
Hello it is probably TED otherwise Thyroid Eye - it will settle in time.
