Hi all, it's been a long time since I last logged on here, but, I wanted to give an update on how things are since I started the T3 and T4 combination... I feel much better than I used to. Panic attacks seem gone, anxiety and paranoia gone... Unless I forget to take liothyronine. Aches and pains, stiffness, still present, but, I feel better than I used to. My weight loss isn't proving easy, I'm still extremely overweight.. Still Need to lose 20kg.. Here's the latest test results. I'd love your views. Bare in mind I had a total thyroidectomy in 2009. I'm taking 150 levothyroxine, and liothyronine 10mcg 3 times a day

Here's the results :

free T3: 7.8 (3.9-6.7)

TSH: <0.02 (0.27-4.2)

Free T4: 22.1 (12-22)

Next appointment in 6 months, just trying to prepare for that,

Romano, did you leave 24 hours between last dose and blood draw?

no, the endo told me to take both T3 &T4 early in the morning(7:30) and have my bloods done at 1pm...

He set you up for failure, didn't he. At 1pm your TSH is going to be at its lowest. Plus you must have eaten before, so that would lower it even more. Plus the fact that you took your dose at 7.30... I Wonder what your real results would look like...

Or is he somehow factoring all that into his calculations? Difficult to see any real reason for his instructions. Normally, one should leave 24 hours between the last dose and the test. Is that ignorance or does he just want to lower your dose of T3?

Romano, Levothyroxine and Liothyronine can peak for 2-6 hours in the blood after ingestion. That may be why your FT3 is slightly elevated. Low TSH and top of the range FT4 and FT3 is good. I hope you feel as well as your bloods look.
